My art is a garden and I am an artist with two green thumbs, a creative and eccentric vintner of beauty. I use nutrients, growing techniques, and tools that I've learned make my art flourish. I have become familiar with my particular terroir, my inner geography and climate that drive my personal aesthetic. From the mystery (life force, God, possibility, whatever you prefer to call it) come the seeds of ideas.
My passion is to plant these seeds and venture out with excitement into the mountains and wild skies of my inner landscape, listen to the tuggings and whispers of my intuition, and tend to my paintings.
There is nothing more satisfying (occasionally terrifying, sometimes extremely frustrating) than setting off into the unknown, blank canvas in hand, and have a finished painting reveal itself over time. Everyday I head into my studio to see what new flower has opened, delighting me with its loveliness. My muses are Matisse, my flower garden and my dog Chamois.
I live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I show in several Pacific Northwest galleries, and make the rounds in the Northwest outdoor art fair circuit.
